Chile - golden Inca needs associate for golden deposit
04-07-2008 newspaperThe state Corporation of the Copper (Codistributor) of Chile, the biggest producer of this metal in the world, approved today to initiate the search of a strategic associate to carry out the project of the Inca deposit of Gold, which will be carried out across an international tender.
According to a bulletin, the corporation will bid 66 % of the property of the deposit that, for his size, is not inside the scale of operations that the state corporation develops and operates.
Golden Inca is located to 105 kilometers to the north of the city of Copiapó, in the region Atacama, and to approximately 900 kilometers to the north of Santiago, development that contains estimated resources of oxides and sulfides for 345 million tons, with a law of mineral of 0,47 % of copper and presence of gold, silver and molybdenum.
Codistributor has realized 51.000 meters of perforations that have allowed to delineate the project.
For the state enterprise the golden Inca development is of crucial importance, in order to support his mining presence in the area, Salvador minimizes the impacts of the closing of the operations of the Division about 2011 and to keep on developing mining projects in this area.
The Inca Golden project implies approximately 1.500 positions I work and 500 work places in the operation stage.
Codistributor has hired BICE CHILECONSULT like financial adviser of the tender, which the strategic associate hopes to define towards ends of 2008.
In 2007 Codistributor registered a net profit for 8.451 million dollars, while his production, after the Cove included the participation of 49 % of the state one in the mine (controlled by the American Phelps Dodge), rose up to 1,66 million tons.
