Costa Rica - Moratorium to the gold-mines
17-05-2010 Costa Rica prayed The RepublicThe new president of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla, signed 4 decrees, included a moratorium to the mining activity of gold and several social measurements, in his first act like chief of the State.
After being invested like the first president of Costa Rica, Chinchilla took oath to his Office and celebrated his first Council of Government, in which he signed the decrees that, as it had shown days behind, mark topics keys that will guide his work during the next 4 years.
The proxy decreed a moratorium to the golden mining in Costa Rica, both opencast and underground, and to the process of industrialization of the gold, so that one prevents the management of new projects of this type in the future, which have raised a lot of polemic in the country for his environmental impact.
