Gold raises 14 % in November, 2008 the biggest monthly rise from 1999

The quotation of the gold for delivery in December, 2008 ended in 816,20 dollars for the ounce in the division of precious metals of the New York Mercantile Exchange, what throws a weekly revaluation of 3,1 % and monthly of 14 %, the biggest monthly upturn of the metal from September, 1999.

The financial suspense and the depreciation of other assets of investment has impelled the quotation of the precious metal after it had experienced in October the biggest monthly fall of last 25 years on having depreciated 18 % on the markets.

The world golden demand in dollars reached in the third trimester of the year a quarterly historical maximum for 32.000 million dollars (25.385 million euros) for the demand of the investors of the whole world of a "refuge" before the international financial crisis.

In accordance with the information of the last sectorial report prepared by the World Council of the Gold, the demand of the third trimester represents an increase of 45 % with regard to the previous record registered in the second trimester, and underlines that the demanded tonnage was 18 % superior to that of the same period of 2007.

The demand of gold proceeding from identifiable investors, which that one proceeding includes of ETFs, ingots and coins, was the principal person in charge of this increase, after reach 10.700 million dollars (8.497 million euros) and 382 tons, the double that one year ago.

Also, the information shows that the demand proceeding from particular investors grew 121 %, up to 232 tons, with a strong increase of the buys of ingots and coins on the markets of Switzerland, Germany and the USA.
