Peru - Almost the totality of Chumbivilcas is concesionada for mine-layers

95 % of the territory of Chumbivilcas (Cusco) is concesionado for mine-layers as You Plow, St Martin and Newmont, the mayor of the above mentioned province denounced cusqueña, Domingo Benito Calderón.

Also he informed that throughout the year 2009 the municipality has impelled diverse informative events where the population declared herself in favor of carrying out a consultation where he decides democratically if they bet for the mining or the agricultural activity.

The above mentioned consultation would be carried out the first months of 2010, according to the agreed in a recent assembly in the Quiñota district, in the meeting also one agreed to ask for the review of the authorizations granted to the mine-layer.
