Peru - Foreign investment will grow 50 % in 2010
17-12-2009 Peru prayedThe foreign investment in Peru can grow in 50 % in 2010, after Peru was receiving the grade of investment of the qualified agency of risk Moody's, affirmed the Peruvian minister of Economy, Luis Carranza.
The investors face his capitals to “solid economies and of minor risk”, although he admitted that in the second and third trimester of 2009 they diminished even in 20 % in the country.
Nevertheless, in the last months of 2009 “the confidence has recovered” and it increased again the foreign investment in Peru what, as he said, demonstrates in the sector Construction, which in November, 2009 grew about 14 %.
“The investment grade will accentuate this change of tendency that we have observed in the last months”, it showed.
After obtaining the Moody's qualification, it added, it is necessary to keep on being employed at the progress of the climate of investment “with very clear goals”, to locate to Peru next year as the second economy of Latin America with better business climate.
The minister said that the public debt of Peru was 50 % on the GDP at the beginning of this decade and now it is located in levels of 25 %.
Till now the debt of Peru was receiving the qualification of “Ba1 ″, inside what the agency considers debt of speculative grade, while now (December, 2009) it has been raised even “Baa3 ″, the grade investment, with a moderate risk.
