Peru - golden Production grows in February, 2008

The Peruvian production of copper, zinc, gold and silver increased in February, 2008 opposite to the same month of the year 2007.
Peru is the second world producer of copper and zinc, the fifth one of gold and the first one of silver.
The golden production grew in February, 2008 17,27 %, to 14.737.998 thin grams, opposite to the same month of the previous year 2007, principally for the biggest contribution of the mine-layer Yanacocha, the biggest of Latin America and which production increased 42,6 % in February, 2008.
