Peru - golden Production in 2009 raises a 1,41 %

The Department of Energy and Mines of Peru (Minem) informs that the golden production in Peru has increased a 1,41 % during 2009.

In December, 2009, the golden production has descended to 13 million thin grams, compared to 14 million grams registered in December, 2008, which meant a fall of 6,65 %.

The Direction of Mining Promotion of the MEM has informed that the above mentioned change is explained by the descent of the Mine-layer's production Barrick Misquichilca in 47 % and Mining Company Plow in 44 %, compared to December, 2008.

Nevertheless, he emphasizes the increase of the production of the Mining Company San Simón in 51 % and Mine-layer Yanacocha in 21 % compared with his similar production of the year 2008, contributes the last one with 34 % of the national production.
