Peru - golden Reservations amount to 1.968.878 thin kilograms

The Direction of Mining Promotion of the Department of Energy and Mines of Peru (MEM) has informed that the brought golden reservations in Peru amount to 1.968.878 thin kilograms. Cajamarca is the department that counts with the biggest quantity reservations, followed by La Libertad.

It indicated that this information is in the Map of Auriferous Mining Potential of Peru that was exhibited in IX International Symposium of the Gold and that is published on the web page of the MEM.

It detailed that in Cajamarca million 32,781 thin kilograms have been brought, while in La Libertad they add 470,965 thin kilograms.

Also they emphasize Apurimac, Arequipa, Moquegua and Handle as other regions with golden reservations.

In this map (auriferous potential of Peru) also it is located to the principal producing mines of gold of Peru and the projects of exploration of major relevancy, many of which are part of the project Portfolio of Investment that the MEM handles.

During 2009, Peru supported the 1st place as 6th golden producer of Latin America and in the world ambience, result reached thanks to the mining operations that principally in the north of the country extract the above mentioned metal.

Nevertheless, the MEM indicated that the biggest levels reached in the golden production were the year 2005 and 2006.

At regional level, Cajamarca was the principal producing region of gold of Peru in 2009, since his units obtained 38 % of the national production, this owed principally to the Mine-layer's operations Yanacocha in his unit South Chaupiloma.

La Libertad occupies the second position with 29 % of participation in the national production, where he emphasizes the Mining company Barrick Misquichilca in his unit High place Chicama.

The golden exports in 2009 overcame in 22 % to the brought in 2008, going on from 5,588 millions to 6,802 million dollars.

On the other hand, the volume of exported gold and his respective price of exportation, they increased in 9 % and in 11 % respectively, during 2009.
