Peru - golden Deposit in Canahuire Moquegua

Good luck and Gold Fields discover gold in Canahuire Moquegua.

The Peruvian precious metals producer Good luck and the giant mine-layer Gold Fields announced the discovery of a highly promising big “” deposit of gold in the south of Peru, the important discovery of the golden deposit, copper and silver, named Canahuire, is located in the southern Moquegua region, close to the border with Chile.

This is an important growth opportunity for Gold Fields and Good luck, and it might offer also a significant contribution to the economic development of the associate Peruvian communities of the region of Moquegua.

The deposit corresponds to the company Quarry of the Find SAC, where Gold Fields has a participation of 51 % and Good luck has 49 %.

In the deposit called Canahuire there is estimated a mineral resource of 5.600.000 of equivalent ounces, with a potential mineralization that might be extended by a program of diamantine perforation.

The resource is equivalent to approximately 83.7 millions of tons, with a 1,9 grams golden law for ton, 0,09 % of copper and 8,2 grams per ton of silver.

“Canahuire is a highly promising discovery in an emergent golden district in South America”, affirmed the executive presidents of Gold Fields, Nick Holland, and of Good luck, Roque Benavides, in declarations.

The president Alan García Pérez announced that the deposit found in the city of Ichuña, province of Sánchez Cerro (Moquegua), has a minimum of 5.600.000 golden ounces that he supposes between 6.000 and 7.000 million dollars in value of sale:

“It is necessary to encourage all the miners, the geologists, investors and students to revise again the whole south area, not only Moquegua, but Tacna, Arequipa that has auriferous history.”
