Russia - Increase of 12,5 % in the golden production the first semester 2008

The golden production in Russia increased 12,5 % in the first semester of this year 2008 with regard to the same period of 2007 and reached 62 tons and 60,7 kilograms, he has informed the Union of the Russian auriferous industry.

The golden extraction increased in the same period 13,8 %, up to 52 tons and 689,4 kilograms, it points out the bulletin quoted by the agency Interfax.

Russia was registering for five followed years a descent of the golden production, but the Union augurs that in 2008 the tendency will be obtained revertir, thank you in particular to the starting of new deposits, like Kupol in the extreme east of the country.

According to the most pessimistic prognosis of the Union of the auriferous industry, the golden production in the country will be this 165,6 tons year, opposite to 162,8 in 2007, and the extraction will reach 147,6 tons against 144,8 last year.
