The mining production in Peru would grow in 2010 a 1 %, what implies that it will be a year of relative stability in the sector, he estimated the Scotiabank.

The analyst of the Department of Economic Studies of the Scotiabank, Juan Pablo Ramos, mentioned that 2009 was one year lightly negatively for the mining production, since a fall of 1,4 % registered.

“The production of new projects was compensated by the closing of some operations or the reorientation of some mine-layers of industrial metals towards the areas extraction with major precious metals content”, he told.
