SNMPE - Peru investments for 47.600 million dollars until 2020

The president of the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy of Peru (SNMPE), Hans Flury, affirmed that the investment in the energy sector and mining sector of Peru will amount to 47.600 million dollars in the period 2010 - 2020:

“The portfolio of mining-energy projects of the country for the next years reaches 47.600 million dollars, making possible to us to end this decade at major production levels in this sector”

It is foreseen that the project portfolio in Peruvian territory in the above mentioned period will be 35.900 million dollars, while in the electrical sector they will be 3.400 millions and in that of hydrocarbons they will reach the 8.300.

The biggest investment in the mining sector will be done in the cupriferous sector, which production is calculated will increase in 253 %.

The principal destinations of the investments in Peru in this period will be
the projects of The Bambas and The Chancas (in the southern Apurímac region),
Aunt Maria (Arequipa, south), Antapaccay (Cuzco, southeast),
Michiquillay and The Farm (Cajamarca, north) and Toromocho (Junín, center), between others.
